I'm backing up my Sopranos series DVD. When I rip this DVD there are 4 episodes on one DVD and each has to be ripped individually. how would I go about putting all 4 episodes back on one DVD-r?

you can encode the whole dvd (4 ep) then cut with virtualdub, nandub (ac3), oggcut (ogg) or tmpgenc (mpg) depending of your codecs.
the other way : use dvd2avi and create one project per episode.

I don't understand!

When I rip Disc one with 4 episodes with SmartRipper...I have to rip each episode individually. Is there a way to rip the entire DVD with all the episodes at once? Is there a better program I should be ripping with?

Use DVDDecrypter and change setting to "Select all files"...
