    Playing AVI on DVD players

I'm a real newbie here with a boneheaded question. As my collection of AVI movies expands, is there any DVD player that I can use to watch these movies on my TV rather than on my monitor?

My laptop (Dell) did not come with a video out card, so unless I can figure out/find a pcmcia video out card, I'm stuck watching films on the computer. Which is fine until somebody else wants to watch, too.

Hoping somebody might have an answer.

Unfortunately, no such standalone DVD players presently exist...

(Of course, you could consider converting the .AVIs to VideoCDs ("VCD"), which may play on your standalone player)

Convert Avi in VCD or S-VCD with TMPGEnc then VCDEasy.
Be carefull, there is no every standalone DVD player who are able to read VCD.
      Philips 722 does it.
