New to DVD riping, need a little help plz

Well im new 2 DVD riping, ive read a few riping guides.
im at the point where im about 2 click Start Conversion in FlasK MPEG, but im not sure on how the sound will come out becasue i dont have a sound card (i use on board sound) and after i installed Radium MP3 Codec it didnt come up in the list of audio codecs and i think this is because i dont have a sound card.
i dont think i should use the windows media audio..

The on-board audio will work just fine.

I've seen this kind of problem plenty of times. I suggest you process the audio separately and later on, mux it with the video that you are creating with Flask. Here's a quick run through:
    1. Extract audio as .wav file using Graphedit/Vob2audio
    2. If you wish, you can amplify the volume of the audio using a sound editor, such as Cooledit
    3. Convert the .wav to .mp3 using an mp3 encoder, such as LAME
    4. Mux the .mp3 with the soundless .avi file that you have created in Flask. Direct Streaming in Nandub will work a charm here.

As long as you have ripped the vob files onto your harddrive, you don't need the DVD disc anymore.

cant i just extract the audio as a .mp3 ?
It does not always result in optimal quality. Besides, it gives you the choice as to what MP3 encoder you wish to use and better versatility. It does not take that much extra space nor time either.

I'd avoid directly extracting the audio to .mp3 in any cases.

As for converting the .wav to .mp3, you can use the command line --alt-preset standard for high quality sound, or, if you wish to use lower bitrates, --alt-preset 128 (or any other targeted bitrate). For an easier-to-use GUI, get Razorlame.

To join the video with the audio, do the following:
              1. Open video in nandub
              2. Set both video and audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
              3. Open the .mp3 under audio tab
              4. File -> Save as AVI and give the new file a name

                      1. Open video to be cut in Virtual/nandub
                      2. Set Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
                      3. Set the beginning and end of the first section (to be stored on the first CD) using the Mark In/Out buttons on the main interface.
                      4. File -> Save as AVI and give a name to the new file
                      5. Repeat steps (3)-(4) for the second section (to be stored on the second CD)

ive made 2 files from the 1 origonal file
when i open file 1 in media player it seams to think the total lengh of the file is 8:21:49 when its really just 1:06:24
it thinks the second file is 9:00:12 when its really 1:14:11.
i waset sure if this was a problem or some kind of error
is ther n e thing i can do about it ?
