Sound out of sync with picture after authoring

Hi - I hope someone can help me please.

I have successfully converted a .avi file to mpeg ready for burning onto DVD. Watching this in media player, the sound syncs fine with the picture.

I have just authored the film using Ulead Movie Factory (just by using the Wizard), built up the scenes etc, but having now burned it onto a DVD, the sound is two-three seconds delayed. Even when you preview the scenes before going into the burning process, the sound and vision are OK. Its only once its burned that theres a problem.

The audio is MPEG-2.

Can anyone help me please? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Resolved

First extract the audio from the avi by making a wav file in VirtualDub, then encode using TMPGenc combining the wav file and the avi file.

Then I author and burn using Ulead Movie Factory.

Easy! Ha - if you believe that you'll believe anything, but what a sense of acheivement when you see your hard work playing properly on a standalone DVD player.
