newbie help needed ripping dvd using dvdx

hi everyone can someone please help me.

i am a newbie learning to rip dvds using dvdx and I have a few questions;

1. when using svcd format can you drop the video bitrate so as to fit onto 2 80 minute cds without losing quality?

2. in vcd mode can u change the bitrate from 1150 upwards to better the quality

3. if anyone has any good tips on settings for dvdx for me this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that that is possible (maybe others can do it, but i don't think it can be done with dvdx although not on two cd'sconfused: )!! I tried a a couple of times but it didn't have te quality of a dvd!!:

I used dvdx for a long time and my advice is make always a two pass rip, and play with dvdx a lot!!! Try a lot of settings!! i.e. cropping and stuf like that!
