    Audio out of sync

i just cut an avi file, but the audio is out of snc with the video. The audio was fine before I cut the file. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've already tried to offset the start time of the video in VirtualDub and that doesn't work. Thanks.

Is the audio out of sync by the same amount throughout the entire movie or does it gradually get worse? How did you process the movie or was it a download?

The audio is out of sync by about the same time throughout the whole movie. I've tried the method on the following page to correct the sound problem, but it didnt work.

Find out how to cut an AVI file into several parts

            This usaly helps:

Befor cutting the video for example with my favourite program, TMPGEnc, make a wav-file of the sound. To do this use virtualdub.
Then when cutting and making new formats of the film you have the avi-file as a source for video and the wav-file as a source for audio.

This fixes the problem for me..
but I heared that having a whole bunch of codecs on the computer creates conficts and could cause problems like this.

            Good luck!
