    Success!!

    OK,I now have a 1.6 GIG 90 odd min avi,coded with div 5,through flask,
    Is this file size to be expected??

    The sound appears perfect,except that it has lite popping sounds occasionally in it...any suggestions?

    Also,the DVD is an old movie.MadMax,its the american redo..could this be it? cheers.

    The filesize would be reasonable, if it includes a .WAV (Uncompressed PCM) audiostream. If this is the case, you can load the .AVI into VirtualDub.
    Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy".
    Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode".
    From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Conversion" - and choose 44,100Hz.
    From the "Audio" drodpown menu, select "Compression" and choose the 44,100 MPEG-Layer3 (.MP3) sampling rate that you prefer (I usually select either 96Kbps or 128Kbps).
    Save with a new filename.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Yes the file includes WAV but I have noticed now,the sound runs out of sinc,and another strange 1..WMP 6.1 will play it,yet the divx player wont,do codecs have to be installed in certain directories?

        I'd suggest that you first perform the conversion that I detailed in my last post (This will result in a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller filesize) - then the new anomalies can be addressed...
