    Joining 001 etc files and p01 ?

OK I'm using hjsplit to join broken avi files I d/l
my question is I see par/p01, p02 etc files at the end of the post. What are these and what do I do with them. With this d/l I cannot view the avi (get error that says its not an avi when using divfix to try and fix the index). So do I need to d/l the p01 etc files?
And if so when I get them will hjsplit (or another program) know what to do with them?

    Someone please help !

    thanks in advance...

To join .001 (etc...#) files, you must download the .rar file and ALL the additional other parts of the whole file you are downloading. Par files are used to reconstruct the .00(#) files that you are missing.

Is there by chance a .sfv file provided?

Then, you can download an sfv file checker. Run the sfv checker and it will tell you which files are missing and which files are corrupted.

After you have finished downloading all the missing files and the sfv checker tells you that all files are okay, use Winrar to open it and extract the file.

Normally, most movies which have been compressed into files like .r02, .r03, usually come in a .bin file. I'd advise you to download Daemon Tools to emulate the file as a virtual cd-rom.

What he means is when you succesfully download all the parts of the file that you are getting, it will extract into a .bin and .cue file which you can burn onto a cd with your cd-writer.

I've d/l and extracted bin/cue files in the past. Mostly with larger format (complete movies) items.
Though my cd burning experience sucked...I could never get it to play on my DVD or PS2, would only work on pc, and not automatically. I'll give that a shot again some day.

This post that I'm d/l is yenc encoded. A bitch if you ask me, but whatever. So the files decoded are *.avi.001 etc.
I just finished d/l the p01 files...I'll decode/combine and then try to join with the 001 files.

I'll let you know how it turns out...

Some dvd's dont play cd-r's (rare, but older ones), you can check your dvd standalone compatibility here. As for your PS2, you have to have a ModChip installed for it to play burned games.
