    Xvid movies

I accident~~~y downloaded a movie from Kazaa that had dvdrip.Xvid.deity. It opened in Windows media player and it was such good quality I wanted to burn it to DVD to watch from my DVD player. Tried virtualdub and TMPEGnc with no luck. Error messages ~~~ over the place. What is the best way to decode/encode to DVD?

Maybe the audiostream contains VBR Mp3 or Ac3 which VDub (except the modified version) cannot handle.

Post the File Information you get from VDub File-->File Information

Also, just to be certain, do you have a dvd-burner or cd-burner (writer) in your computer? The only way you can watch movies on your dvd player for the tv on dvd-r format is if you have a dvd-writer. You can, however, watch VCD movies... Let us know which one you have so we can assist you.
