I got a new mac and want to try this DVD ripping thing and need some help. I used DVDbackup 1.3 to rip a DVD I have. It's like 6.3 GB and it's in the file video_ts on my HD. Now, how do I get it into burnable format and to less than 4.7 GB. (I have OS 10.2).

I have no idea how this will work on a Mac. My experience is limited to Windows OS'es.
Basically, you have two options: either re-encode the dvd at a lower bitrate (allows you to keep extras and multiple audio tracks etc...)
or you can "strip" "unnecessary" portions of the dvd such as foriegn language tracks etc.... (this avoids the need for re-encoding).
I am unaware of the exact procedure or tools for MAC that you would use. You might want to do a search on google and check out the doom9.org as well as vcdhelp.com site.
