Xvid probs..sluggish jerky slows down computer!

    Hey

I'm new to al these codecs and stuff and the Xvid one is really confusing me.

I've installed it however when i try to watch an xvid file the video is out of sync to the audio and is very sluggish and jerky. Also the mouse becomes less responsive and sluggish

anyone know what the problem is?

    thanks in advance

Everything slowing down on your desktop and "slugging" is probably lag. How fast is your machine?

Indeed that should be more than enough...

        "I've installed it however... "

I wonder, what codec did you install? Try installing the FFDshow filter and see if it works after that.

              Link for FFDShow:

Download ffdshow for free. ffdshow is DirectShow and VFW codec for decoding/encoding many video and audio formats, including DivX and XviD movies using libavcodec, xvid and other opensourced libraries with a rich set of postprocessing filters.
