    Did the original file that you downloaded (to your hard drive) play properly from your hard drive?

    If it didn't, what type of error was generated?

    Did you convert it to VCD format, or merely burn it to a CD?

        If u convert normal avis to mpeg1 (vcd format) it doesnt make it much bigger at all.
        But if u use compressed videos like divx or others it will be bigger.
        U will have to make 2 VCDs, i would tell u to do so, if u rip a dvd u need it too, if the dvd has 1 1/2 hours or more

          To Judge

          1) If the .AVI was in DivX format, converting to MPEG1 or MPEG1-VideoCD will typically result in files approximately twice as large (You could say, DivX compresses files twice as much as does MPEG1/MPEG1 Video CD)

          2) A TYPICAL VCD format CD (Yes, there are special programs which can possibly increase this) can hold approximately 60 minutes (megabytes are irrelevant) of video with sound.

          3) Since you're using a recent version of NERO, which is capable of directly converting .AVI files to VCD, I'd suggest that the simplest approach for you (for splitting into two files) would be as follows:

          A) Load the original .AVI into VirtualDub
          B) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying
          C) Set your start and end points for the first file (Set end point approximately halfway through the file). IMPORTANT - Make certain to set your end point on a keyframe.
          D) Save your first new file with a new name
          E)Set your start point for the second half at what was the end point for the first half. Set your end point to the end of the file.
          F) Save the second file with yet another new name
          G) Each of these files should be readily handled and converted to VCD (on separate CD-Rs) by NERO.

          Let us know of your success ;>}
