need codec or other help please lotr 2

LOTR twin Towers..
starts playing with a green coloured screen..then appears to liquify ... I assume this is an x-vid thing.

I must be out of date with my codec or something..if I have done it right there should be a screen grab from V-Dub.

Check the MANY postings in the "Xvid" sub-forum here. You'll see multiple references to using the FFD Direct Show filter for proper XviD playback...

been off converserting things for a while....come back and its changed.....still think x-vid is more trouble than its worth to the morons like me who simply want to convert .avi stuff to vcd

If that's your primary purpose, have you tried converting a portion of the file to VCD - without regard to how the .AVI plays back?

At the risk of "ruffling your feathers" ;>}:

In light of the fact that you're apparently dealing with illicit materials that you've obtained by merely clicking on a filename, it's laughable to "hear" you complain that it's "more trouble than its worth"...
