MPEG -> Image freezes but sound goes on

    Hi
I have converted an avi (Divx) to VCD with the correct template of the tmpgenc (VCD PAL) but the final mpeg has a problem: the video stops for a second or two but the sound goes on. It occurs every four or five minutes. Then the mpeg works OK (video and sound) but a few minutes later it happens again.
The original avi is OK and in my PC the mpeg is OK too, but not in my TV DVD player

    Any suggestion?

Make sure that the audio frequency is set to 44,100Hz and NOT 48,000Hz...

        Is your source PAL also?

Yes source is a divx pal with Ac3.
I have separated image and sound with Vdub and then
I have used TMPGenc to encode with the VCD PAL Template

All AC3 I've ever come across is 48000hz.

Transcode the ac3 to WAV @ 44100hz and then feed that to TMPGEnc. Use someting like Azid or Besweet.
