Sound out of sync

Hi there,

I have a question and it may seem stupid (because it has been submitted about over a 1000 times).
I have this divx file which plays fine, but it has a few corrupted frames in the middle of the movie that causes the audio to go out of sync. Now is my question... does anyone know a good prog to cut the audio stream at that point and replace it in sync with the video.

Oh yeah..... i forgot to mention that the audio is now in PCM format, but before i decompressed it, it was already out of sync.

Use VirtualDub or NanDub to cut the frames out. The audio will also be cut too.
It has been covered before coutless times. Use the search and have a good luck around the forum. Good luck.

I was all wrong..... the video is scrambled but still the same size... it's the audio that's f*cked up... is there some way to only cut out the video and leave the audio intact. Or just to split the audio and move it till it's in sync with the video...(audio is way ahead of video)

To add/subtract a delay on audio/video, goto Audio/interleave and add/subtract in the delay box.
It uses milliseconds ....e.g 1 sec=1000ms

use "-1000" to delay the audio by 1 sec, etc.

DivFix works really good too. It automatically detects corrupted frames and cuts them out, while rebuilding the index too, which often helps immensely.

Already tried DivFix, but it didn't even recognize the scrambled part...... it just went by it.... it did however find a few flaws at the end of the file, but i couln't even see it with my nose in my monitor... So DivFix is out of the picture for me... The scrambled part may however been caused during download... so first i'm trying to re-download the file and then see if it is still there

OK,I have had this problem also,theres a few ways to go about it,personally,I had probs with a THX audio compressing to static in a rip from copy protection,i solved this by extracting the PCM to a wav,then reloading it seperately,under audio,then compressing as 1..u can also try these,

To fix an off-synch sound in AVI files, do the following:
1. Load up AVI file in Virtual/nandub
2. Set both Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
3. Under Audio, go to Interleave and input the appropriate value in the 'Delay audio track by x ms' box
4. Go to File -> Save as AVI and give a name to the new file.

In the case of the audio gradually getting more and more off-synch from the video, add the following step prior to saving the file:
-. Under Video, go to Frame Rate and select "Change so video and audio durations match (you should see a value similar to the original frame rate).

To retain/maintain proper audio/video synch with Flask v.0.594PX3, set the audio to Uncompressed PCM (WAV) at 48,000Hz - NOT .MP3.

After Flask has converted the file (which WILL be properly synchronized, but large), load it into VirtualDub - set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy", "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode".

From under the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose whichever .MP3 48,000Hz you desire. Save with a new filename.


I suggest you cut and paste this to notepad.
