    Newbie Newbie

I'm about as new as you can get to converting a dvd to vcd as you can get so help me like you would help a child. So far I have went through all the steps but em stalled when I get to using the TMPGNenc program then it tell me cannot ope or not supported. The sound is there just fine but no video. First I used smart ripper then DVD2AVI and all went well but then came the problems. I do not have mt dvd software installed such as win dvd so could that be the problem?

What is the video format of the file you're attempting to input to TMPGEnc?

What video codec did you use?

Like I said I'm very new to this. Only thing I know is it is a store bought movie and I tried to make a copy. I installed no codecs other then what XP pro with SP1 has. Is there a site that has a step by step procedure to how to do this for us dummies.

You need to download the Tusanmi 3.9.9 codec pack from UncasMS's site

          Welcome to the forum Kodiak.

http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/ar...nvert_vcd.html should be a good starting point. Thankfully, VCD is fairly easy.

you can make a vcd directly from "dvd2svd" it is nice semi-autimated program that gives you the flexiblility of what you want.
