Xvid to mpeg problem

I used Nero to convert an xvid movie to mpeg so it could be played on my dvd player. The audio and video came out fine but the movie is upside down and backwards! I could watch it if I stand on my head with a mirror but that's not practical so does anybody have any idea of what to do. I have not tried tmpenc yet but wanted to try nero first. Thanks for any help and sorry if this has been asked before but I just found this board and didnt see anything about it

If you had searched these forums for "upside down", you would have found a multitude of virtually identical questions - all with the same answer -

Use TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG1-VideoCD format and use NERO ONLY to BURN as VideoCD (NOT convert, since you will have already done this)...
