Need help on an Xvid encoded avi movie...

    Hello people,

Allright, I downloaded a movie encoded in xvid and when im playing the movie, i get some weird artifacts. These include getting green screens here and there, the video being all scrambled, etc. I also get out-of-sync audio but thats probably my computer (500mhz celeron ). Anyways, i get those artifacts with every xvid video i get.

The codec i use (xvid) is from Nimo's codec pack (Nimo50build8.exe). Since i didnt really know what to install, i just installed the codecs (nothing else). Since i also had trouble playing normal divx videos when i installed the codec from Nimo's, i decided to just use the normal codecs from this website.

What should I do? Should i ONLY use the codecs from Nimo's pack? BTW, i didnt install any filters because i didnt know which ones to use. Any help is greatly appreciated. Im new to the boards so i dont know if anyone has asked this question before.

This should be posted in the P2P forum. Thanks

By the way try uninstalling Nimo and installing either Tsuanmi 3.9.9 or FFDShow Alpha

        Hey....

not to sound like a smart-ass or something, but im generalizing where i got the movie...if this was about a P2P issue, then i wouldnt have posted here...but since im asking about a problem with the xvid codec, this post belongs here.

Anyways...thx for repyling, and I will trust your expertise on the matter and try this out.
