Sound and vision out of sync.

    Guys..
I'm not doing anything too complicated here but am having big problems.
I take video clips on my Samsung Digimax 350SE camera (3.2 MP) - up to 7 minutes depending on the size of the compact flash card I have in it. I can then watch them on the camera screen and they're fine.
However once I copy the clip to my laptop hard drive (Advent 7012 - 2.6Ghz P4, 256Mb SDRAM, SIS650 graphics chip with 32Mb shared memory, 40Gb hard drive) using my CF card reader, and watch the AVI clip in windows media player 9, the sound and vision are out of sync by between about 2 and 7 seconds.
    Can anyone offer any advice.
    Regards
    Steve.

    Hi, and welcome.
I have a similar camera (Cannon) and don't seem to have that issue.

Try opening the avi in mediaplayer 6.4 instead.

    Start/run/mplayer2

See if that show same results.

Also, do you know what format the video/sound are being saved in?

Thanks for that - I'll give it a go when I get home.
From the manufaturers website, it says movie mode records using AVI motion JPEG at a resolution of 320 X 240.

I'm not sure if this is the cause of your problem or not , but I had a similar problem that went away when I installed 512MB RAM. How big are the video clips you're trying to play with 256MB?

Clips are anywhere between 10 seconds and I suppose about 4 minutes (so between about 3Mb and 70Mb), but it makes no difference - they're all out of sync once they get to the laptop!!
