tried out the trial ver. of moviejack 3.0. I'ts a great program, cause it doesn't put all the vob and useless files on your hard drive, thus making a rip process short. Anyways I got an error message saying MPEG codec not found. I'm have ffdshow and divx.,directx.. after I hit ok, it shows the #8.. Can anyone help???

congobongo,
"cause it doesn't put all the vob and useless files on your hard drive"
So where are those necessary VOB files stored? Surely you don't mean that the DVD drive is kept spinning throughout the conversion?
"Anyways I got an error message saying MPEG codec not found. I'm have ffdshow and divx.,directx.. after I hit ok, it shows the #8.. Can anyone help???"
I am unfamiliar with the program moviejack and as such do not comprehend its error messages. Perhaps you can give some details on its working?
As a basic precaution though, I would make sure that all codecs and tools are installed (the program's installation should take care of this; most rip packs do). -
You are aware that the trial version is limited, aren't you?
One of the listed limitations is:
"no support for S-VCD/MPEG 2 ripping, no cutting and converting functionality because of MPEG2 license terms"
This may be the reason you're receivng those messages...Comment

To congobongo
Just a suggestion to you personally:
If the procedure you're describing means that this program is constantly reading from your DVD drive/burner, rather than first "ripping" to your hard drive and reading from your hard drive, be careful - That's very punishing to your drive and may cause it to fail prematurely.Comment
