    PowerDVD and VCD playback!

I´m using PowerDVD XP 4.0 to playback some VCDs @ fullscreen and sometimes there are slowdowns. Why? What can I do to fix this?

maybe your system is being overtaxed. try closing unnecesary background applications.

The only application running is NAV, but I think this is not the problem, cause I play DIVX and it runs very smooth.

Do they exhibit the same behaviour when you play them under Windows Media Player?

Do they exhibit the same behaviour when you play them on a standalone DVD player?

Windows Media player runs very smooth but not total fullscreen, that´s because I play with PowerDVD..
Mine Standalone DVD is too old. It doesn´t support playing VCD

"Mine Standalone DVD is too old. It doesn´t support playing VCD"

So why are you creating VCDs (the format of which is specifically intended for playback on a television)? If you're creating videos exclusively for playback on your PC's monitor, I'd suggest you use DivX 9 or similar) compression instead...

You might try installing and using good ol' reliable Windows Media Player v.6.4, as follows:

Desktop>>Start>>Run Then type MPLAYER2.EXE Then reboot...

what does a reboot do when you are requesting the application to be run that instant?

                    reboot before, then run mplayer2.exe

The older, simpler v.6.4 requires far less overhead and you should be able to use its fullscreen capability without any problem...

The strange thing is that with WM9 I put fullscreen but the video don´t fit the entire screen. is there any option to enlarge it?

WMP 9 is too loaded with extra stuff that loads it down a lot.

the older one is far more efficient in the way it operates.

also, WMP classic is a good player that does dvds, so it is probably better for that. you will have to download that. google it
