whats the best method to record video ingame?

Ok,
What would you video gurus suggest be best way to record video for my Game..........I play dark age of camelot and I wanted to make a video of my character on a waterfall with some kung fu music ....of course i wanted to make several recording and edit it.....i already am familliar with avi cut and joining and other fun things ......I just dont know how to record video from the game....
kinda like Snapshots but i wanted to activate record and cut off at my leisure durring my game....so i can create a theme video for my Valewalker........

what game is it and u need to know what video format it uses. if its Bink for example, then u can find some tools online for this.
