That's the log alright.
Can you check the file size of "Buu AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY -80ms.mp3" and "Buu_Movie.avi" and post the sizes here.
The log file looks ok so far

You could just have a noisey DVD that's hard to compress.
Also, 704 x 288 rez could be maybe lowered to say 640*xxx
helps Divx compress better.
Also, you can add some filter before beginning encoding.
When you click "Save/Encode" add a de-noise filter. This will slow down the process a bit though. The log file looks fine otherwise?

ok cheers i will give that ago thanks for the help
and also when its starts it takes like 1 hr 30 mins to do its thing and then takes another 1hr 30 mins to do it again and i end up with 2 files Buu and Buu_movie ...... Buu_movie has no sound but Buu does and is the rip is this normal all these thingsComment
-
The rip i did was on a res of 704 x 288 so its must be the nosie thing and if that doesnt work i dont know what to do
and i dont see a de nosie filter i see a Nosie filter then underneath it has little , medium , heavy noise and then theres a
extras part saying put nosie filter before resizeing (slower)
what one do i tickLast edited by Buu; 17 Sep 2003, 09:23 PM.Comment

It does two passed for max quality. The first pass analyzies the movie and the second pass uses the stat file to predict things like scene changes and fast/slow scenes.
The two avi's you mention. When GKnot adds the audio it does not delete the original AVI. The avi with no sound is safe to delete.
Just add the little noise filter. The other "before resizeing" tick is not really needed.
Jus try again but with a slighty lower rez.

yeah aswome picture and really good sound
Ok got acouple of questions aswell
1. encodeing with divx 5 when i tried this it was going to take 6 hours to encode but when i do it with divx 3 alpha it only takes 3 hours max is there settings i have to change in divx 5 or whats the reason for this and my xvid codec doesnt work on gnkot as well and also what do you recomend as the best codec to useComment
-
Whatever codec you use it's all what looks good to YOUR eye. Don't ask "what's the best codec" as it always leads to flame wars
I personally find XviD the better one. Most release groups use it.
DivX3.11a is a much older codec and more simple. DivX & XviD are far more advanced. I would rather wait the extra encoding time if the final encode looks better. Also, DivX5 can do more then 2-passes. Called Nth-Pass
Told ye it was easy!

Get the unstable build for some serious fun.
XviD-24062003-1.exe
Koepi hasn't updated in a while though.
