How to get quality full screen viewing of AVI files.

Im new at this videogame. Im more into electronic music, but now i wanted to make an arty videoclip. Ive used a video8 analog camera to make scenes. The highest resolution i can get with that (at least with the videocard i use) is 352><288. Ive edited an AVI like this. All oke, but now when i play the AVI on my wmediaplayer its oke small but when i play it full screen its poor quality. How do i upgrade the resolution without qualityloss or is there a fullscreen player which scales without the same qualityloss.
Maybe some program-names to solve this.
    THX.

There is no way you can 'improve' the quality of your video at 352x288 resolution. Neither is there a player capable of displaying such a movie at fullscreen without any loss in quality.

I suggest you do the following if you wish to view the movie full screen and get the best quality:

Go to your desktop and lower the resolution of your computer monitor or desktop to the lowest resolution allowed (eg. 640x480).

Sounds dumb right but its the only way...

there might be a workaround for your problem.... at least it is worth a try

note that the following method needs a fast computer (at least 1.3 ghz or faster

try to capture your video with virtualdub---> capture avi
--> video-->source and select your capture device.

then go to video--> set custom format---> choose the highest
resolution for horizontal choose the resolution where the x is
      for vertical resolution or 288

in compression choose yuv or better huffyuv.....if available

then choose framerate in the lower right..... choose an audiocompression in lower right also .... if no audio should be recorded choose smallest value...

refer to video again and DISABLE overlay disable preview also!!!!
the video preview window will now turn to green or blue!!! do not bother......
hit F6 and start your camrecorder playback.....

if virualdub starts it will now record an anamorphic video
to c.\capture of course you will only hear and not see when you captured what you wanted..... better check before what time you want to capture!!!! the log next to the now green or still videowindow will provide you with information on that...

after capture is done hit mousebutton and exit capture mode...
load "capture.avi" on C: or wherever you put it into virtualdub again. in video hitfull processing mode hit filters in video--->
add---> resize--> and resize video to a 4 :3 format lets say 640 :480 if possible use the lanczos resize filter.....

hit ok ---> in video you can now also apply a compression if wanted.....--> go to audio and hit direct steam copy, or no audio ,
or full processing mode and choose a compression.

go to file drop down menue and save as avi with a new name

      hope this works!!

        Thx for the info

Thanks dudes for your help. Its quite a manual to do in virtualdub.
When i have the time ill give it a try. But for the thing i already made its probably not the solution cause its already edited in premiere so nothing to do with the v8camera anymore. I find it so strange you cant resize video. Im a frequent photoshop user,so im used to resizing till im blue in the face. You should think a movie made up out of images, it would be just as easy.
