    Video Capture Advice

I have a new Digital 8 Sony DCR-TRV350 camcorder. I wanted to convert my existing 8mm tapes to DVD movies along with any new footage.

I have my camcorder connected to my PC using USB.

    My PC:
    2.8GHz CPU
    1Gig RAM
    200 Gig HD Space
    Radeon Pro 9800 Video Card.

The quality of my captured video, new footage or old 8mm tapes, is poor. When I plug my camcorder into my TV everything looks great. When I watch DVD movies on my PC they look great.

How do I get good quality home DVD movies?

I've tried the software that came with the camera and ULead (a little better, but still low quality)

    Thanks

    I have same question.

I have VHS & DV tapes that I would like to burn on CD's.
I have a Sony DV camcorder & have tried to put home movies on my pc via i-link connection.
I have tried several different programs but I'm not sure what format i need to keep it clear( burning on a cd to play in my home DVD player on my tv).
if i put programs on high quality when recording, i get dropped frame rates...

i've tried DV Gate, Ulead, movie shaker, pinacle studio 7, adobe premiere 6, windows movie maker2...

please tell me which is best, and what setting to use for burning onto a cdr for viewing on my home dvd player.

    THANKS !
