Thanks again setarip.
Yes it is gratifying. I just ripped "You'll Be There" - with Faith Hill from "Pearl Harbor". I was kind of amazed to find in ifoedit that there was only one sound track DD 5.1. I ripped it and made an mpeg2. This is nice to be able to rip just the music video - nothing extra. The resulting video is a little jumpy though. I will have to find and reread a recent post of yours about de-interlacing. The videos "Balaimos" and "Wild Wild West" had no jumpiness to them. They were smooth.
The vob for "You'll Be There" had Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. After decoding and recoding I have 2 channel stereo - probably not even surround. If I were to burn the original ripped vob directly to a DVD-RW I could get DD 5.1 sound, but I would also have to edit the ifo file and put them in the correct directory and probably burn them with Nero not DVDit. I have printed out the DVD to DVD-R Instructions from vcdhelp.com. I also printed out probably 2 reams of paper of how-to's from the Nicky Pages. That should shed some light on the method.
If I edit the ifo, I could burn the vob and the ifo in the right directory and have one video as a trial on a DVD-RW. If I edited two ifo's how would I put them together on a DVD-RW so that the DVD player would make sense of it?
