EasyDivX is freeware and pretty sweet (includes 2pass, etc) whereas DrDivX is very good and costs around $40 or £30 or €45

Both have had excellent quality for me when used in the past. Remember to chose a two pass option for the highest quality.

It's a no brainer. GordianKnot and DVX are excellent tools and FREE.

I think FlaskMPEG works fine (for me).
            It has also a 2-Pass-Mode.
But you've to take an older Version (above the preview version)

              FlaskMPEG:

Inferior Deinterlacer and Resize algorithms are bad enough, amongst a number of other complaints, for me to never use it again.

                    Oki, the Deinterlacer sucks!
But it's fast & easy to use.
Is GordianKnot as easy & as fast as FlaskMPEG?

well i have never used flaskMpeg so i dunno.
                      Gordianknot has exellent quality though.
But its not as easy to use as super dvd ripper ect.
But the results are much much better.

Although we know that EasyDivX does not have the same quality as GordianKnot (whic i have used), i would say its safe to assume its the asiest of the lot to use. Simplet steps 1-7 and its done

There is a plugin for Flask which will allow it to encode directly from the DVD. Just a thought.

GordianKnot easily wins in speed department, as far as I have tested. Stability has also been an issue with Flask (especially near the end of the encoding).

GordianKnot requires a bit more learning than Flask, but that is of little concern since it is just as intuitive to use and a thorough guide on using it has been made available on this very forum.

I have a little tiny question about your little discussion about Ripping Progs. i tried to use Super DVD ripper 1.90 too, but my system makes an error in Unknown every time and crashes and if im trying to make my DVD drive Region-Free then the same thing happens, do someone knows what can cause these probs. I have my drive in suspension i think its protected with a tiny hardwarecuircuit of any kind.

                              Someone with an explanation???
