    problems with tmpgenc...

so i use virtualdubMOD to extract the video and audio out of a movie and i get these errors throughout the use of tmpgenc:

    -runtime error 216 at 00002DFC

-File "blahblah.avi" can not open, or unsupported.

-EAccessViolation caused at 00033187 of module ntdll.dll.
Write error occured at address 77F83187 of module "ntdll.dll" with 00000000.

    Also this **** happens:
    -Tmpgenc closes without prompt.
-Half way through encoding, the video is black.

I tried uninstalling and everything but I can't figure it out.

    May someone please help me?

well... since I have no idea about your system
I am not able to help you with your error messages....

I only can guess....and to me it sounds like a driver or a instruction library conflict

do you have more mpeg codecs installed than one....?
deinstall the others if they are located in windows/system/......

try to reinstall tmpeg encoder......and use a "valid" version.....

black frames after half of the encoding is typical
for good but non decompressable frames....
it sounds that you may have lost some keyframes in your original avi....
try to check them with videofixer or avifix......before using
    vidub mod

if your avi contains an ac3 audiostream try to do the following:
in TMPGEnc, under "Environmental Settings", set the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" to the highest priority listed .... 1 is good enough
excuse me but I am just shooting at "deers in the dark right now"

    Working...
