Burning A VCD With Nero 6

    Hi!

I just got a hold of Nero 6 and noticed it had an encoder built into it so that it encodes before buring to a CD.

    Is it very successfull?
Can the VCD be played on a VCD player or just the computer?
Any advice on the best way of creating a VCD that will play on a VCD or DVD player?

    Thx IPanther...

You're better off using the mpeg-1 encoder that TMPGENC has.

Nero does have a VCD encoder, but their codec really sucks. The quality of the product is terrible.

My advice is to convert to mpeg-1(vcd) using TMPGENC, then burn to VCD using Nero.

Even after I encoded my MPG and AVI files Nero 6 still automatically encoded 1 or 2 of the files, did I do something wrong with TMPEGEnc or can that happen?

Just choose the option "create vcd" and choose your mpg file. However if nero asks to encode the file say no.

Well, in my experience, there was just something wrong with the conversion when using TMPGEnc, but after it calibrates it in Nero, the quality isn't affected (much) than what it was in TMPGEnc
