can't play divx and avi files

Hello everybody,

I'm very new here and I hope you can help me, here's my problem:
until now I had no problems to play any video files, but recently I had a virus and had to remove it, as I'm not very good at that, I may have removed some harmless files, which made my players work... also, when starting my computer, I recieve the following message: "Windows script host - Script: C:\Windows\system32\hosts.vbs - Error: file already exists - Code 800A003A - Source: Microsoft VBScript Runtime error" I don't know if it has anything to do with it....
I can still play .mpeg and .wma files, but .avi and .divx don't work...

can you please help me?

problem solved!

Sorry for the trouble....

I spent some time on this forum and found a program(http://www.divx-digest.com/software/gspot.html) in the french part which told me what was missing: Divx_c32.ax

anyway, my problem is solved, thanks for your help!!!!
