    capturing mov stream

I need to capture a streaming .mov file and I'm not sure what software to download (it's actually only audio if that changes things). Also, if it helps, the site has a weird "rtsp://" origin.

Try rightclicking on the download link and selecting "Save Target As"...

      no luck right-clicking

Thanks for the shot, but the "Save as Quicktime movie" option is phased out.

if i shall help u, post the url where u found it and tell me where on that page

normally if u know the url u can easily use download progs like getright to download urls u already know (if they are not protected somehow)

there was also a prog out there called StreamRipper (but its just worse than getright)

          url of site for movs

I don't think this helps, because you can probably not access this site.

          you enter,
take the link to "music 145b",
and the mov's I need are in "Listening Assignment One"

            of course it helps *g*

u got the url at the side with the course results

just get getright 4.5 or earlier version
after installing just open the menu and say "Enter new URL", then u paste the url of the given movie (rtsp://..../+.mov) and it downloads to the download folder u should be able to select after u press ok

            that was all
this works for all files that u can access and u know the url

help! getright 4.5c not quite right

Getright's browser goes all the way to the page where the rtsp://
links to the mov files should be, but then it doesn't show anything.
If I just enter the address "rtsp://" it tells me I need to enter
              either "http://" or "ftp://."

yes sorry, i knew that prob of getright, it doesnt support this kind (just html and ftp i think)

there is a prog out there called streamripper, but it s hard to find (but i found it once too, on the official site it isnt any more because they had problems with the mov makers)
this prog works similar to getright but i think it should allow this kind of downloads too, i have not experienced at all (sorry i already deleted it, but perhaps i will find it)

seems like i made some little error again *g* the progs name is streamboxripper vcr or similar (who the hell knows *g*)

i found some nice adress to download the thing:

i think u just need the exe and the crack
plz dont ask me how to use it exactly (i think it should be similar to getright or so) i never tried it (dont need too *lol*)

hope it helps (i ve read that it should be able to download rtsp things too)
                  cu

i have win 98 if you set your folder options to "show all files" and you have quicktime installed..after you are done watching the stream go to "program files" then above the regular quicktime folder there is a folder called "qmgr" its like a cache folder and so far i have always had the whole quicktime movie in there as soon as i was finished watching it.
