    ms graphedit

Hi, I'm trying to us MS graphedit.exe to track down a bad? audio codec as suggested on the Sonic knowledgebase. The terse readme says:

'Then, run SysEnum, go to the "DirectShow Filters" section, scroll in the list at right till you find the codec's name, click on it, and down at the bottom of the window the filename shows up. Now you can "regsvr32/u" it.'

Does anyone know what "regsvr32/u" it means?

If this makes no sense to you how about this?: I'm just trying to burn my DV tapes to DVD disc using "MyDVD" by Sonic on a Sony DRX 500UL. I can't record in Best Quality since my tapes are 90 minutes long. I'm using Better Quality Video and Audio but I get a build error saying "no audio decoder". I'm not married to MyDVD but it came with the burner. i don't want to do anything fancy, just archive my tapes. I do like MyDVD because it seems to render in real time. I have Studio 8 but that takes forever to render. I also have Nero 5.5 if that can be used for this purpose.

In the "beginners start here" sticky in "Nicky's FAQ's" Nicky gives a walk-through on how to build a graph with graphedit...but if you aren't a programmer, I'd suggest you find something easier. I don't have Studio8...but have been told it'll capture DV in MPEG2. I KNOW ULead Video Studio7 does...and VS7 goes from capture in DV Rez to renderto prep and burn...a one-stop solution. But I usually stop after prep and take the DVD files to DVD Shrink for sizing...and then to TMPGenc DVD Author for final prep and burn. I tried MyDVD...but it's a bit quirky...you may not have a bad audio codec at all...try something else.
