    Dolby Digital

    Hello,

I have a standard DVD-Rom in my PC, connected to my Creative SB 5.1 audio card, using digital ouput/input.
My 5.1 speakers are DTT3500 Digital.

My problem is that I tried several config and DVDs but I never had Dolby Digital enabled on my speakers (LED never lit on the decoder).

Can you help me please ?
A step-by-step guide would be helpful.

    Thanx.

I used to have DTT3500 (Now i have TEAC PM2000 which kicks ass ) and still have the SB 5.1.
U must enable the SPDIF output at the player u are using for DVD playback. What is your player?
Tell me if it helped u

My player is WinFast DVD (I have a GeForce card).

My DVD-reader does not have SPDIF output (just analog and digital).
At first I think that it can be the explanation for my problem but I read here and there that SPDIF on a DVD reader is only useful for Audio CD.
      Did I understand wrong ?

      Thanx for your help !

PowerDVD and WinDVD which I am familiar with have
some sounds mode. like 2 speakers, 4 speakers, Dolby Surround, Dolby Digital ,SPDIF e.t.c.
U should enable SPDIF at your player (I don't know about WinFast DVD though). U should also disable " AC-3 Decode" from the advanced settings of Surround Mixer of the SB 5.1 so that the amplifier of the DTT3500 can handle the decoding of the DD sound

          I can't launch the surround mixer !
I always have this message :
"CTSURMIX a causé une défaillance de page dans
          le module <inconnu> à 0000:00000007."

More infos on my system :
          AMD 1333Mhz, VIA chipset
          Win98SE, 256Mo RAM

          Any idea ?

Since I can't run "Surround mixer", someone can tell me where these settings are saved (registry, .ini, ...) ?
I took a look at Windows registry but didn't find anything useful...

Thanks, your help will be appreciated.
