Tis a long story how this all started but each step just seems to get more expensive now I think I am stuck for good.
1. Bought a hitachi dvd cam, records on little ram dvd's but the are hard to find and $25 each for 30 /60 mins.
2. So I bought a sony dvd burner as the guy at circuit city said that I could burn the little dvdram's to the "standard" size one's and play them on my dvd player plus I could then rerecord over the same ram disc.
3. My computer kept freezing when I was trying to imput (right lingo?) from the dvd cam to the computer. No problem the guy at Dell said I needed a new computer, bigger HD and a built in dvd burner. Bought one.
4. Finally after buying all that "stuff" I managed to get the movie from the dvd cam into the PC only now it is saved as some VRO file and none of the editing software will open it Both Sonic and Roixo say they do not support that file or the darn file is not visable, as it only lets you pick certain file extentions and VRO is not one of them. (TMPGEnc also does not support it eeks!)
5. I did manage to burn one dvd using the recordnow from sonic but of course it only plays on "this" computer and only in PowerDVD.
So my question is Can I somehow take these powerdvd files and change them to the mpeg2 or avi files so I may edit my movies (by this I mean home movies ie sons basketball games) in one of the darn movie editing programs this computer and dvdcam came with (Sonic,Roixo or dvdmoviealbumse)
I do apologize for the length of this post and thank you for any help you may give.
