    Sonyu DVP-NS300

    HI

I recently burned 2 Imation DVD+RWs. The problem is that they won't play on my Sony DVP-NS300 player. Can anyome recommend any discs that will play on the Sony machine.

    Thanks for any help

Virtually ALL models of Sony standalone DVD players are exceptionally "finicky" about brands of burnable media.

I strongly suggest (based on personal experience with Sony players) that you try some Ritek DVD-Rs (or DVD+Rs)...

The only problems that I have had with this DVD player is with playing Video Discs created by VCDEasy or Nero.

You must ONLY use CD-RW at 4X speed only ( the faster speed ones will not work ) I use Memorex 700MB type. Larger ones at 800Mb can't be read by the player....

The only CD-R that I have found to work is a NASHUA Multidrive Compatibilty 700MB,
I got a few with a Drive that I bought once but as yet I have not been able to source any more. So all my Video CDs are CD-RW's .......SOB SOB

This DVD player wont player SuperVCD however I have had lots of success creating MPG2 Quality VCD, using the VCD header trick the PDF of how to is widely available on the Internet, you will need TMPEG Encoder v2.521 that is freeware to rewrite a MPG1 header onto a SVCD (MPG2) video stream, and also make sure you burn slow at about 4x speed using VCDEasy, there is also a shareware version at v1.1.5.2

Anyone know of a supplier for these Nashua CD's if so I will gladly send these freeware versions and the PDF to you for a URL or two
