leadtek 2000 expert + capture software

    hello
i am onwing one ofthese leadtek 2000xp expert capture cards.
my problems begin when i wnat a littel bit more quality from my captures.

-the software that comes with the card winfast pvr has serious bugs, of witch the most important is not beeing able to record a decent video quality on 768x576. i am not interested in 320x240

-dscaler i cannot use, althought on their website says the card is supported

-i am trying to use intervideo windvr3 but it has some ugly bugs:
    a) schsvr closes unexpectedly, making me lose channel and scheduled settings (they reported to fix this bug, i downloaded their new version, but it has the same problem)
    b) i am using a customized recording profile (mpeg1, 4000kps, 768x576) and after capturing something like 10 minutes, mediaplayer reports me that i have a 4 hour clip.
    c) always uses 100% CPU when it captures something

    now, my request..
a way to fix the bugs to one of these programs
    or
a software that i can make a decent 640x480 capture, no matter if it's avi or mpeg

    thank you

A freeware you could try for capturing is VirtualDubMod.
Without knowing your hardware and it's recommended anyway, I suggest you capture to avi first and compress later.
Also, ensure your hard drive is DMA enabled.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

i don't mind freeware or not
as long as it's good quality, it does not matter if it's avi or mpeg

CPU: AMD Thunderbird at 1,7 GHz
      OS: Windows XP
      Ram: 256 megs of ddram
Video Card: Nvidia Geforge 128 mb

      dma enabled, of course

Our reason for avi is it's less load for your processor, streaming being time dependent. Once you've got your data safely onto your hard drive, then is the time to compress if needed.
