    Upside down .mpg's

This is probably a dumb question but...

I've just converted an Xvid .avi to mpg using Tmpgenc and it's upside down. The original .avi is fine, how can i fix this?

    1) I'm aware of NERO creating this type of problem when used to CONVERT to MPEG (not just to burn), but not TMPGEnc

    2) Is it possible that your XviD-compressed .AVI plays properly because you've set your player (or FFDShow filter) to "flip" the video?

I've had the problem with Nero before but this has never happened with TMPGEnc. I've checked FFDShow and it's not set to flip. It plays fine in both WMP and BSPlayer and neither of those are set to flip the video.

I'm gonna try re-encoding the .avi with VirtualDub and flip it with that then encode with TMPGEnc.

Any other suggestions, please let me know.

well... in case of mpeg2's (m2v's) the desktop color depth may cause the flip. in true/32bit color i got upside down, in hi/16bit - all was ok.
