lcpm vs ac3: noticeable quality difference?

ok, im authoring a disc with ulead dvd workshop, and im wondering if there's really a noticeable difference between these two audio setups (or some other reason to choose one over the other, like compatability issues):

    LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo

    or

    AC-3 Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R), 448kbps

because the lpcm is the default, but if i go with the ac3 i can up the video quality substantially and still fit it on the disc...any help would be greatly appreciated

Audiophiles will tell you that LPCM (which is uncompressed) is better quality audio. If YOU can't perceive a difference between the two, go with .AC3 for a smaller audiostream...

hmm...well, i suppose its a tradeoff, because the smaller audiostream allows me disc space to crank up the video quality.

      thanks a bunch!
