AVI to DVD..could not decompress

tried converting a Xvid to dvd using avi2dvd ( dvd2svcd ) but gets the following error message when trying to prewiew video (still pictures)

AVI SOURCE: Could not decompress frame 0

The source .AVI seams to be working fine on both mediaplayer and BS player. I converted many movies without problems in the past.

i tried converting anyway, but the program crash when opening the CCE ( cinema craft encoder )window.

I tried getting the latest Xvid codex, and run FFdshow, but nothing seams to work...Im using windows XP SP1..and the latest build of AVI2DVD

Open the video in virtualdub, and frameserve it to CCE or Tmpgenc. If that doesn't work, demux it in virtualdub, and load the independent streams into CCE.

while you're in virtuladub, you can as well 'scan for bad frames'

when i tried to open the avi file in virtualdub, did i get the same errormessage could not decompress frame 0 ( error code 100 )

And a error on improber audioencoding....whits will result in a delay on sound

I scanned for bad frames 142542 masked .....1738 bad....140796 good but undecodeable

What can i do now....is it a lost case...thx for your reply...Sorry but im a total newbie in video en/decoding

After scanning and masking, save the file with a new name - and try processing the new file...

At 142000 frames masked, and 1700 found bad, it's either a seriously corrupt video, or a seriously corrupt codec. My bet is the video is crap.
You could try DrDivX or DivFix on it. You could try encoding in tmpgenc...I think you'd better go back and download it again
