Are you simply burning the files as .AVIs, or are you using NERO to convert them to another format?

        To jordan:

Have you attempted to try a different program to split the AVI files?

There are numerous ones, but I would give it a try using Virtual Dub, or any of the variant programs i.e. VirtualDubMod or NanDub. Visit the following link for some helpful information:

Ok, it happens often that you need to split AVI into smaller files -- maybe you want to fit your DVD rip into 2 CDs or something. Anyway, this process is extremely easy to do.

i downloaded "virtualDub" opened the video file and got this error message... "Couldnt locate decompressor for format "DIV3" (microsoft high-speed MPEG-4 V3 [hack:divX low motion]) VirtualDub requires a vedio for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by windows media player are not suitable. any ideas what this means... sorry to be a pain
