    Codecs doesn't work

I've download Nimo Codec's pack 5.0 (Build 7 & 8) and I've tried already two DivX-codecs and one (or two) XviDs... And I haven't heard about this problem.

The problem here is that when I install the files, Bsplayer, Winamp and Windows media player says that there is no codec, or cannot open file. And when I install all of the Nimo's pack files, it keeps whining me about errors reading this and that and so on (Of course I haven't install the files Nimo tolds not to).

I'm using my laptop-computer and I think the only reason is that this laptop sucks hard.

Is there any way to make it work, and how? (Is there anything I haven't noticed?)

Okay, I downloaded ffdshow. I figured out that DivX and XviD works perfectly, but ffdshow tells me that Mpeg-2 and Mpeg-1 codecs are "currently broken" (*.mpg). How to fix it?

It's hard to know when you're a newbie like me It feels like I've already tried everything...
