Just rename the file to .avi.
There is no such thing as a divx fileformat, a .divx file is really just a avi file that has been renamed to .divx

All DivX files have the extension .avi. There is no DivX movie that carry the extension .divx. It's probably been renamed by someone who thought the extension should look like that.

Shoot...the sign's been changed to emoticons. Anyway, you know what the sign looks like.

The .divx-extension is an *invention* by the programmers of "The Playa". The only reason ist that so you can automaticly (double-click) play the divx-videos with "The Playa" and all avis encoded with other codecs with your standardplayer.
