Questions about making my own digital video.

Well I got a Canon ZR-25 digital camcorder, a P4 1.6GHz Gateway computer, a Startech firewire card and most important at all the actor, my three-month old son; now I am ready to make my own home movie.
But I have some questions about using Windows Xp Moviemaker
    1. Could I save movie in formats like mpeg, rm?
    2. I saved movie in DV-NTSC format (? the really big one), later when I played the movie in Media Player, the movie looked squashed. It was OK in the preview window in Movie Maker. What happened to it?
    3. Is there any tutorial for Movie Maker out there?
    4. What kind of software do you use to make your video?
I hope you guys could help me out.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day

if you have ulead video studio v4.0/ v5.0, you can go to global commands\make movie manager, +/- 14 option frame set.
for the first/ comparing, try pal vcd (352x288) (25fps). choose the option one by one for your best quality video. sorry my english is poor.
      good luck.

even if you use video studio..you should still render as "uncompressed avi" and then encode using an encoder such as tmpg or real producer etc..
