    VHS to DVD

Hello Been a while since ive been here for help. Last time i was here i got lots of good info and i thank you for all of your help on mpg to dvd.. Now i need to know how i can transfer my old vhs tapes onto dvd. They are slowly being destroyed by the major humidity here in Hurricane Florida. I have Tmpenc dvd authoring and the Tempenc programs to help me out.. I dont know what other prog i need to get this done and how to hook up my vcr to my computer or what video card i need on my computer.. I have just upgraded toa 80 gig HD and have lots of memory and an awesome P4 processor so my computer can handle anything you can throw at it.. Please let me know what i need to do.. Thanks!!

    Hi,
Yah, first you will need additional hardware for your computer:

with a TV tuner/capture card, you can hook-up almost anything to your computer: DVD player, VHS player, Cable TV, x-Box, PS2... the list goes on.
They also make USB versions, but the PCI are lost better in many ways. First, less CPU overhead, more aplication support, and better reliablity.
with the supplied software(or freeware), you can record the video to your harddrive as raw mpeg, then later edit and reincode them to avi, or burn to DVD.

I hope this answers your questions. If you have more, or need help, feel free to email me @ jhornby@eelriverlumber.com
