avi to DVD with ac3 (5.1)

Can anyone recommend an appropriate software for creating a DVD out of a very good divX, with 5.1 sound ?
I tried with TMpeg, but it didn`t work, it doesn`t accept avi`s, only mpeg files. So i tried to convert it first, with Ace Video workshop, but as a result i ended up with no sound...but with a very good video !

Your statement is incorrect. The PRIMARY use for "TMPGEnc" (Different than "TMPGEnc DVD Author") is to convert .AVIs (DivX-compressed or otherwise) to MPEGs.

If you received an error stating, "filetype unsupported":

In TMPGEnc, under the "Environmental Settings" "VFAPI plugin" tab rightclick on the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" and increase to one greater than the highest priority of listed items. This will enable TMPGEnc to accept a properly encoded .AVI with .AC3 audio for input...
