Friday Night Lights / Bourne Supremacy

I have used DVD Shrink successfully for about 6 months... Every now and then, I run across a DVD title such as Friday Night Lights and the Bourne Supremacy, where after analyzing the DVD, it abends when you start the backup.
Can anyone help a rookie understand what is causing this, and if there is a workaround?

Sorry if I did not phrase the question correctly. The use of the tool is for backup purposes of an extensive DVD library that I am trying to build. Because I loan my DVD's out to friends on occasion or my children use them, the original tends to get scratchy and sometimes unplayable.
Is this not the proper setting to ask the question that I asked? This is for legitimate, legal purposes...
