Newbie needs desperate help

I'm gonna format my computer now,
what should I install after fomat?
I used to install just "Nimo codec pack"
Is there anything new that I should download?
and other question is, when I play movie,
in some part of movie, screen stops but
sound is keep playing but if I fastfoward a little
it get backs to normal........do you know
what's the problem?

What you should do is install your motherboard driver, GPU & soundcard & other peripherals drivers and Windows Service Packs (If any), before you even consider installing any codecs, of course. :0

As for the problem you wrote, is that before or after reformat?

For me, installing 3.11a followed by 4.12 (forbidden from playing 3.11a contents) works well enough for me. If you happen to have a DivX movie with ac3 sound in it, you will need the codec for it, which, I think, UncasMS has.

As for that problem of yours, why don't you just do the reformat and see if the problem goes away?

Yes and remember not to allow 4.12 to play 3.11 contents

Preferably, since a large number of DivX movies will be encoded using either of these codecs, though I think the majority is still by 3.11a.

cuz I went to DIVX official site and they only have Dvix 5.
and don't I have to install anyother codec? something like
AC3.....or anyother codec or program.
