Joined Avi's with EoVideo, but they wont play

    Hello all,

I'm new here and a big noob on the issues of avi's etc
    My question is this:

I use EoVideo 1.36 to join my avi files.
For instance I joined 6 avi's all the same frame rate, size, video codec etc, etc

    (DIVX DX50 / 480x270 24bits)
    (44.100 khz 0 bit stereo)

All the files have the same specs. Now when I join them through EoVideo to one big AVI everything goes well. I get no error-messages or compatibility issues while EoVideo is joining them.
Once finished I try to watch the new avi-file and for some reason it stops after the "first part"(like it didn't join all the 6 files). But when I open the file in my mp it does show the right lenght of the file (cumulative of the seperate files) but it just doesn't play till the end.
If I move the slider by hand beyond this breaking point it continues to 'play' the file but there's no image or sound
I tried looking at the file with virtualdub (1.5.10) and it only shows the same first playable part of the whole file.
Anyone any idea what I am doing wrong here??

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

ps. I tried fixing this avi with avidefreeze and it works, but the fixed file ends up without sound??

"I tried looking at the file with virtualdub"

If, in fact, all of the files are identical regarding BOTH video and audio format, why don't you simply use VirtualDub to join the original .AVIs?

I'm guessing that, because VirtualDub is very stringent in its requirements for file copmpatibility, you'll discover that there are some disparities regarding either audio or video settings amongst your original files...

I always used EoVideo for that, always thought it was a good and easy (in my case important program. Now regarding file I already joined together, I dont have the original ones any longer...So is there any way to repair the one I already joined. Stupid thing is that it will play on VLC media player ...The reason I asked this question in the first place here is that I have the impression its some issue with installed codecs on my PC that don't let it play. Tried wmp, divxplayer, BSplayer...get same result when viewing the file..only videolan mediaplayer plays the file without hesitation...

But Ill try joining other files with virtual dub...Thanks for that.
