Wondering if I shoud invest in a new burner

TDK are a bit of a mish mash with respect to their disks - they range from real good stuff to downright crap and it's all under the same brand. Unless you know Media ID code, you can't tell with them. BTW - Ritek are real good disks.

i would reccomend the Pioneer A09XL

16x writing, plus the only burned i have found that can do 6x dual layer i love it, replaced my old sony 8x with it.

and FYI - Ritek 8x DVD-Rs are the best for video. you will never make a coaster in your life (unless you have a power blackout or something)

a common misconception is to get mad at the media you are using with 9 otu of 10 times it is the burner that can't handle what you are trying to do...use that burner i suggested with the Ritek media, and you will never switch back to anything else. sometimes if you hear people comlain about Ritek media it is cause they are using a BenQ or NEC or Lite-On or Samsung burner...so they should be blaming the media when using inadequate hardware to burn with.
