jmet- I have a copy of your instructions on how to backup a
DVD. Is there another set of instructions for copying
a VHS tape to a DVD?

There are no graphical guides that I have made that are on VHS to DVD or any I know of either.

For VHS to DVD, you need:
A method of capturing the VHS to digital. A capture card, or other interface device.
The software to generate the avi or mpg on the hard drive via the capture device.
The software to encode the captured file to mpeg-2 (unless the capture device captures directly to mpeg-2).
The software to author the mpeg-2 to the DVD structure.
The software to burn the finished DVD structure to DVDR.
